The Waco Calligraphy Guild was organized in June of 1988 with 14 members. We are a diverse group of people with a common appreciation for the book arts and in particular beautiful hand lettering.

A primary goal of the guild is to provide learning opportunities. One need not be a practicing calligrapher in order to be a member. Many members come with a background in a related art field. Some enjoy the activities as observers.

Regular meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 am until noon except for August and December. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings.

Interesting programs and hands on projects are the order of the day ! In addition to the regular monthly meetings, the Guild sponsors workshops, clinics, exhibits and other community activities. The meetings are held at the Art Center--College Drive, on the McLennan Community College campus.

Feb. 10th:Join us for a fun program where we will be learning and / or reviewing the Uncial alphabet. This fun alphabet is an easy learn for beginners! The presenter will be Carol Engelhardt- a teacher at LiveOak Classical School here in Waco.

We will also have a Valentine exchange. Bring an orginal hand crafted Valentine and receive one in return!

We will also be sponsoring an all day workshop from 9-4 pm on Feb. 17th for BEGINNERS! The cost is $50 . You will learn the basic strokes, terminology, grid placement---well, everything you need to get started with beautiful Italic calligraphy.
